Renew Your Passion: A Guide to Florida SLP License Renewal

Renew Your Passion: A Guide to Florida SLP License Renewal

Renew Your Passion: A Guide to Florida SLP License Renewal

As a dedicated speech-language pathologist (SLP) or audiologist, you have the power to change lives. To continue making a difference, it's essential to stay updated with your licensure. In Florida, SLP licenses expire at midnight, Eastern Time, on December 31, 2025. Renewing your license on time ensures that you can keep delivering the vital services that so many rely on.

Why Timely Renewal Matters

Renewing your license before it expires is crucial. Failure to do so will result in your license being placed in delinquent status, and if not renewed before the end of the current licensure cycle, it will become null and void. This could halt your ability to practice and impact the students and clients who depend on your expertise.

Steps to Renew Your License

To renew your license, follow these simple steps:

If you encounter a "PII Failed" screen, use the “Other Login Option” to access your account with your existing User ID and password.

Fees and Payment

Fees vary depending on your renewal status:

Payments can be made online using a credit or debit card, or by mailing a cashier’s check or money order to the Division of Medical Quality Assurance.

Continuing Education Requirements

Continuing education (CE) is vital for maintaining your skills and staying current with industry standards. Here’s what you need to know:

CE credits should be reported to the Department of Health through CE Broker.

Reactivation and Additional Information

If your license has been inactive for more than two consecutive biennial cycles, you may need to demonstrate competency through an examination or other reactivation requirements. Contact the board office at info@floridasspeechaudiology.gov for details.
