Unlocking Success: Wisconsin's Special Educator Induction Program

Unlocking Success: Wisconsin’s Special Educator Induction Program

Are you a first or second-year special educator in Wisconsin? Or perhaps you hold a License with Stipulations? If so, the Wisconsin Special Educator Induction Program is designed just for you! This program, supported by an IDEA Discretionary Grant, aims to provide a comprehensive set of induction activities to help new special educators thrive.

Why is this important? Studies have shown that first-year teachers who participate in a comprehensive set of induction activities are half as likely to leave the field as those who do not. This program is your ticket to a successful and fulfilling career in special education.

Induction Opportunities

Who Should Attend?

This program is perfect for:

Participating districts will receive a stipend to offset costs per participant. Each CESA will provide:

Comprehensive Learning Sessions

Coaching and Support

Building a Network of Support

The induction program is designed for first or second-year special educators and special educators holding a License with Stipulations. There will be no cost to the school district. Participating districts will receive up to $1,500 per participant to offset the cost associated with participation in the induction program. Districts will be reimbursed following the completion of all three induction opportunities. Districts must commit to the release time needed for new educators to participate in these induction activities. Participation in the induction program will not result in DPI licensure, but is intended to supplement any Educator Preparation Program.

Each CESA will select 25 participants to join the induction program. For more information, contact your local CESA.
